Rob Smets, Rodeo Announcer
Rob Smets, also known as the "Kamikaze Kid", spent nearly 30 years in the arena protecting cowboys from the bulls. He would distract the bulls so the riders could leave the arena safely. Rob retired from bullfighting in 2006. During his lengthy career he accumulated many awards; 2006 Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame Inductee, 2010 Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame Inductee, 5x World Champion Bullfighter, 9x PBR (Pro Bull Riding) Finals Bullfighter, and 6x NFR (National Finals Rodeo) Bullfighter. Rob was recently awarded the Jim Shoulders Lifetime Achievement Award during the PBR finals. He then entered the arena to fight three bulls for the last time in his career.
Rob now spends his time as a rodeo announcer, motivational speaker, and clinician. In his free time he enjoys rodeo, roping and golfing.
